Now that you know what agenda item you chose, you will have to create a mind map out of it. Your mind map must contain the following:
A. Important aspects of the agenda, who it claims it will benefit, how it will benefit, how much it will cost.
B. House and senate bills in the past that are related to this agenda item, but that the agenda item will improve upon or directly against the agenda item. (Find one piece of legislation and explain it in detail.) You can start your research here.
C. Last but not least, who within the corporate world, or policy arena are behind this agenda, and why they are pushing it.
You will work on this today and two days next week.
Since you are working in groups of two, at the beginning, one person will need to learn how to use the mind map software, while the other person starts to research.
You will have to register for a basic at Mindomo
Next week, you will both need to work on research and putting it together on the mind map.
Here is a sample of the branches of government, which I am sure you will be assigned later.
When you are finished, you will post it as a link by commenting within this post.

ReplyDeleteOur issue we chose to do is Poverty. We chose this issue because it is an issue that effects us both and we want to do research that will help give ideas to end or delay most of the poverty around the world.
In the U.S. today, problems of education relate to funding, teacher quality and the status of the teaching profession, student academic performance and standardized testing, racial imbalances and equal educational opportunity, and the curriculum in relation to labor force needs and global competition. New problems, such as teacher we choose the topic about education shortages, overcrowded and unsafe schools, and unequal access to educational technology join other perennial issues in education such as gender bias and the bilingual education debate. The educational system as a social institution and individuals’ educational experiences and levels of attainment are key factors in addressing other social problems.

Our subject was technology and we chose the subject because it is one of the most important issues today. Technology is one of the most promising items on Obama's agenda because it could solve most or all of the nations problems.

ReplyDeleteWe chose to read about the Interior and the Environment APPROPRIATIONS. The bill is going to help us better conserve our natural resources, keep our air, water, and environments cleaner, & teach us to better manage fires. It is also going to honor obligations we have to Native American communities. In the long run, its hopefully going to help improve our climate (global warming).
