ReplyDeleteWe chose the topic "Energy and Environment" from Obama's Agenda. We chose this mostly because we care deeply for our environment. Jessica and I completely agree with Obama/Biden's plan for creating plug-in electric vehicles. We're always looking for ways to conserve energy and save the environment.
"Health Care"
ReplyDeleteHealth care is very important; and the American people are to often made to choose between government run health care with higher taxes, or insurance companies that may take advantage of them. Obama proposed a plan that helps workers with insurance coverage. The Obama-Biden plan is building a better health care system for Americans.

Technology during Obama's term looks very promising. There are many plans to improve what is already there, make it better and work faster and more efficiently. However there are also new innovations that are being researched, such as new technologies that could very well cure the economical crisis that our nation is facing. One of the largest issues though, is knowledge, the internet could be used to educate an entire nation, we can learn more and come out stronger because of it. The internet has even more uses though, and can stimulate the economy and make America more powerful than ever before. Today internet security is not that good, and many misfortunes have befallen people because of it. Throughout Obama's term, we would expect to see many new technologies take root and reshape this nation.

We choose the Women's topic because we are women ourselves and would like to see how the Obama campaign is affecting us. We agree that more women need to be ensured under the nation's health care system. We also think that we need to support research for women's health and empowerment. We like how there is increased funding for family planning and more education for safe sex. Overall, we appreciate that Obama is taking women into consideration in a world so dominated by men.

We chose to read Obamas agenda on Poverty. We chose this topic, because as of today's economy rapidly decreases the country's poverty increases. If many Americans were to experience poverty, one of our greatest concern is how Obama would address this issue. From his background we know that he himself was involved with aiding less fortunate people in his community. We hope that if America were to see an increased amount of poverty that Obama would aid them as well.

I chose this agenda because I think that all the veterans should have the right to be in tha Department of Veterans Affairs. Annnnd i really dont like how the Department of Veterans Affairs are letting millions of veterans become homeless....even after they fought for our people to be alive and safe. I want tha VA to help tha active soldiers get back into the United States and back to their civilian lives. Annnd tha VA needs to be fully-funded so that the veterans have as many resources and tools they need to succeed in life. They need to figure it out so we dont have any budget problems for our men that once fought for our country.

ReplyDeleteWe chose this agenda, because our country's security is very important. Also the citizens of this country need to be protected by the foreign enemies. For us to be protected we need a good arm forces and good security. For that to happen we need to have a defense that is good for the 21st century.
Ankur S. and Hoa P.
I chose the topic on Defense. I agree that our President is investing on a 21st century military program. Proper training gives our military a good advantage on other threats. Although I think that we should move our troops out of Iraq and call them out when we really need them the most.
ReplyDeleteMikhail D.
We chose the "Veterans" agenda because we wanted to show our respect toward all the men and women that serve in our military. They are risking their lives and going for people they don't even know across the nation. They are trying to bring peace and prosperity to our country. Everyday there are thousands of men and women fighting for our country. We also chose this because Obama is now taking homeless veterans in from the street, strengthening their health care and helping them live better lives.

I chose this topic because I am very worried about the Economy, I am a fellow citizen that has a mother that recently got laid off. This worries me because, due to this what if the future for us is not as bright as it is. I read the most updated blog of what Obama will do and it may come up to work to give Americans more jobs, I respect that, but questions also stir up. Once, we find new technology and scientific research on new medicines, will we not need to spend as much more money due to it being a new product? As well as providing new schools with new labs and libraries will cost some too, Where does all this money come from? And is our generation paying for it?

ReplyDeleteWe chose the topic immigration because we think it is a very important subject in playing a role in the U.S. economy and many peoples daily life.We dont believe the U.S needs foreign skill workers. We personally thing that we should waste so much money on border patrols.Like also said in the article there should be a easier way for people in mexico to come into the U.S legally if they are already here and becoming successful.
Civil rights
ReplyDeleteWe are deeply against discrimination of any source. We would love to learn how Obama will promote a peaceful environment for everyone to live in. Hate crime are epidemic and need to be stopped. Civil rights have been ignored for a long time and we need to get the word out that everyone is equal

ReplyDeleteI will choice the topic of education from obama's agenda. I choice this topic, because the education is important to a nation and it is really a huge problem we are facing. We all can see the problem of colleges are taking less students and give out less classes. Even some of the high schools are cutting off classes or sport teams. And many teachers lose their jobs.

ReplyDeleteI chose to the topic taxes, because I would like to keep updated on what the U.S. is doing with our tax money. I think it is very important to know what is going on.
i chose the topic about education from Obama's agenda. education is very important to the world and to the U.s .The problems we face in the educational time's .All of the schools in the U.S are getting tax cuts and getting educational class's cut and sports activies are all gone. many teachers with out tener are getting cut also

We chose Energy and Environment because we like the idea of plug-in hybrid cars on the road by 2015. This will provide jobs and help the environment in making the air cleaner. We also like the idea of a National Low Carbon Fuel Standard which will give us cleaner air and reduce our greenhouse gas output.

ReplyDeleteWe picked poverty as a topic because while this war goes on overseas, we seem to be in trouble here in the country. There should be more focus on what's happening here because we are losing jobs, and gaining the homeless, unemployed quota. There's a decrease in jobs, decrease in pay, increase in demand for jobs, and in demand for more money. We want to know if this recession has stood on it's last ounce of strength, or if the economy is on it's last days of hope.

ReplyDeleteWe have chosen to do the topic on Iraq. This is because we believe it will be the most interesting to us. We don't think this is a war worth fighting. It is costing the USA 11 billion a year, this money could be used for other more important things, instead of blowing up the innocent in Iraq.Besides they don't even want us there.
We chose immigration for our topic. Immigration has effected families especially when they rip up a family just for not being legal at the united states.Immigration should take a step further that's the change we are all waiting for. To be as treated as everyone else.

We chose economy because, the economy is one of the biggest issues of our generation. Our current economy is going through a recession as demonstrated by the foreclosures of homes and losses of jobs. We are curious to know as to whether or not we can do anything to help combat the evil-doers of economy as students.

We decided to choose Disabilities. We believe that this is one of the most important issues among us. Everyone deserves a chance for education, disabled or not. They need the right materials provided to them for success. We must continue the progression for the disabled in order to create a non discriminate community. Finally, with this we will be able to create equal employment opportunity.

Poverty.
We chose to read Obama's agenda on poverty. We are extremely interested in how Obama plans to deal with poverty in rural areas. We understand that approximately 10% of the population of the U.S. has more than 60% of the wealth. We want to see if Obama will address this issue.
Obama is planning to increase minimum wage to 9.50$ an hour by 2011, in hopes that workers can receive a living wage. This is very relevant to us because we are just entering the work force and this agenda will directly affect us.
In conclusion, we have yet to perceive how these plans will turn out, but are looking forward to it with anticipation.
We believe that the Obama comprehensive Tax Policy Plan for America will greatly improve the lives of many people and their wallets. First the idea of simplifying taxes for as many as 40 million middle-class Americans to be able to do their own taxes can be a real breakthrough on how people view their own economic state. Providing generous tax cuts to various groups of people in need of them also makes for a great plan because then more money can be used by those receiving cuts, and will bring an upturn to financial situations everywhere. And cutting taxes for 95% of workers and their families will destress economic struggles and bring about a higher flow of money into the system. All in all, it could make for a very sound plan.

I chose the education agenda because education is the most important thing for our youth, because technology is advancing. In the future it's going to get to a point where our generation is going to need a college education to keep up. I really like the Obama and Biden Address the Dropout Crisis Plan. This plan will help those students stay in school by helping them plan out personal academic plans, keeping the youth motivated, and prepared throughout schooling.
ReplyDeleteWe chose the topic on "Education" because education is important for our kids. There are different plans for education like keeping kids in school, bringing early education so they are ready for kindergarten, being able to afford for college, having teachers that care for the children.
ReplyDeleteKaila J. & Sonia B.
we chose social security because more and more seniors finding it hard to retire. with more people retiring and fewer entering the work place social security has taken a huge toll. We hope Obama can solve this issue.

Personally i disagree and agree with President Obama's Foreign Policy. i agree because it will end the war immediately and end the suffering of the families who have to deal with their lost ones. i disagree because the military forces that come back so quickly will probably add to the economic crisis!
ReplyDeleteI dont know what im doing. But i guess I agree with what Obama is challenging our energy and our growing problem within our environments with. This issue has been ignored for far to long and it may be out of reach to help now.

I will chose the topic of education from Obama's agenda. I chose this topic, because education is one of the huge problem that most students struggling how to afford four years college. Some students after graduating high school can't continue going to college because of financial problems. We all can see that most students choose to work hard rather than to study in college to get a degree.
ReplyDeleteWe chose civil rights because we believe that that's one of the most important things that society has to deal with, even today. President Obama is working to extend the amount of time that people have to file discrimination suits against their current employers. He is trying to protect victims of hate crimes and he is federally banning racial profiling from federal jobs. Judging citizens by their race before judging their character is something that he's also trying to stop in our country. He is pushing for rehabilitation programs for first time drug offenders instead of incarceration. For ex-offenders, he wants to implement job training and and counseling services so that they can re-integrate themselves back into society. President Obama believes that the time that citizens get for experimenting with crack cocaine and other powder-based drugs is wrong and should be completely eliminated. He supports the LGBT Community and aims to further defend their rights. He also will repeal the don't-ask-don't-tell policy in the armed services. Furthermore, he wants to expand adoption rights to gay and lesbian couples, promote AIDS prevention, and empower women to prevent HIV/AIDS. The ideas that our new leader, President Barack Hussein Obama, are dealing with to improve our society is both gratifying and inspirational after all the pain and neglect our society has endured.
ReplyDeleteEmily V. and DeJon M
We chose Disabilities because that is a major concern between the two of us. Adam himself, has some disabilities, and he supports every effort Obama will make to see that everyone with a disability, big or small, will receive a proper education, and equal opportunities. Adam and I believe that we should end discrimination, increase the employment rate, and support independent, community based living for Americans with disabilities. We are glad that Obama & Biden are working together to solve these problems.

We chose poverty as our topic because although it has always been an issue in American society, it is becoming more and more prominent since our economy has gone into its current crisis. We would like to see what Obama plans to do to change the current state of our homeless and those on the verge. Obama has done a lot to help his own community, and we are eager to see what he can do for the United States.

ReplyDeleteWe chose education because education is the key to success, without an education you will get no where. With the proper education you can do achieve anything in life.
ReplyDeleteLisa S. & Ahmad Z.
We chose taxes because most people worry about this particular topic. It also affects us because our family is a working middle class families so cutting taxes mean that we have more money to use and spend at. We also believe that it can greatly improve many American's lives. Although it has some effects at our nation's economy, we think our president has a solution to that problems. Since we are going to college and UC next year, our families need money to send us to college.

We chose economy because it is a big issue in the U.S. today. Many people in America have many bills and are struggling to survive. We also wanted to know Obama's plan to fix the economy. Even though it will take some time. Hopefully Obama's American Recovery and Reinvestment Plan will work.
ReplyDeleteKim N. and Tokiko A.
I chose urban policy. It is big with our communities. Most communities are hurt because of the lack of jobs, crime, and not very good education.this affects a lot of people and there families.I am glad President Obama is helping out by trying to create new jobs, increasing minimum wage, and help with health care.
ReplyDeleteAmsh Ali
I chose to read about the topic of health care from Obama's agenda. I chose this topic, because I am very concerned about our nation's health care. I will say that I like the plan that president Obama and vice president Biden have come up with. It provides less fortunate families more affordable health insurance. I greatly appreciate this plan. Thank you.

ReplyDeleteI choose education because it directly influence on my futureI feel interested in those plans Obama and Joe Biden given. They try to make many oportunities for everybody, and encourage the development of education. However, those plans aren't easy to do, especially in the economic crisis. How can they make it come true while they have too many things to do such as healthcare plan, or resolve unemployment. Therefore, those plans look cool, but seem incredible.

ReplyDeleteObama is very active when it comes to women his agenda on women portrays that he is for women rights he believes we should be treated as equally as men he has passed acts that help battered women and ones that protects our right to have equal pay his agenda promotes aids awareness and giving money to fight disease that plauges women in America like breast cancer it also supports a womens right to choose whearther she thinks abortion or adoption is the way to go also improving our schools i personally think that this is great we deserve just as much as anyone else men are women should be treated equally and paid the same wages

I choose to do my project on education because it affects me a great deal and is therefore very important to me. My mom is a teacher and any reforms that affect her will by extension have an impact on my life as well. Also, she talks to me about how some of the educational system works, and I would like to follow how it is going to be changed for future generations. In addition to this, I'm hoping to see how the changed are predicted to affect the students and how they will handle themselves outside of the educational system as a result of their schooling.
ReplyDeleteTechnology
ReplyDeleteMichell and I chose Technology because of the heavy emphasis on it from Obama's agenda. Examples include the work planed for silicon valley in Green technology as well as a reform to internet services worldwide. It will ultimately reshape and reform the U.S as we know it if all goes well.

"Premiums Versus Wages"
